Our Team

  • Jason McKenzie, CEO

  • Jill Moylan, Chief Culture Officer

She received her B.S. in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. Her favorite activities include spending time with her family, hiking, reading, learning new things, and spending time at her daughter’s gymnastics classes. She came to the Latitude team in 2021 when looking for a career that she would love, and hasn’t looked back! If you are looking to share beta, your new favorite book, or just chat, come say hi! She can be found in all the Latitude locations.

  • Alieza Compton, General Manager

My climbing journey began in early 2019 when I joined Latitude as a member. I quickly fell in love with this amazing community and have now been a part of the Team since late 2019. I’ve worked as a front desk staff, youth coach, route setter, and at multiple levels of management! I’ve gained a strong support system through all the amazing members (and now friends) I’ve made. The encouragement and guidance I’ve received has gotten me to where I am today as a climber and a Leader at Latitude. The best part of working for Latitude is watching new climbers fall in love with this sport and seeing how strong they become! If you see me around the gym don’t hesitate to say hello or ask me any questions!

  • Matt Marshall, Head Setter (VB+NFK)

I was born and raised here in Virginia Beach, and graduated from Old Dominion University in 2020. Climbing has been my passion for years and as a setter, I love to watch people learn to climb. I strive to create challenging problems for advanced climbers and approachable climbs for newbies. Don’t be afraid to let me know how my team is doing! I can be reached at Matt.Marshall@latitudeclimbing.com

  • Simon Thurston, Head Setter, Hampton

Simon’s been climbing at Latitude since 2018. He began his route setting journey at one of Latitude’s very own member setting clinics in 2019. After going through all the ranks of his setting apprenticeship and serving as the team’s Senior Route Setter for two years, he’s excited to put his experience to use as Head Route Setter! He hopes everyone who enters Hampton gets psyched on climbs of all skill levels! If you have any question don’t hesitate to reach out: simon@latitudeclimbing.com

  • Josh Osborn, NFK Facility Manager

  • Matt Brown, VB Facility Manager

  • Katie Bay Woodbury, Hampton Facility Manager

  • Ryan Farrell, Meridian Team Coach

Ryan has been the Head Coach of Latitude’s competitive youth team, Meridian, since its inception many years ago. An avid proponent of health and fitness, Ryan seeks to empower our youth athletes at the highest levels of rock climbing. He can be reached at Ryan@latitudeclimbing.com

  • Carter Reed, Director of Youth Programs

A longtime climber, Carter has grown at Latitude from being a front desk staff member to a youth coach, and now as our Director. He is also a part of the gym’s Routesetting Team. Carter helps youth athletes develop and broaden their climbing skills, build new relationships, and reach new heights. Climbing is a staple of Carter’s life and has brought him all over the country in search of new adventures. If you see him around the gym, don’t hesitate to say hi!
